Heritage Homeschool ministry
"BEHOLD, CHILDREN ARE A HERITAGE FROM THE LORD" PSALM 127:3
Mission:
The mission of Heritage Homeschool is to foster relationships and connection between homeschooling families within the body of Christ at Selah Hills Church. Heritage partners with homeschooling families by providing time and space for children and parents to form friendships with one another and create lasting memories. Through consistent meetups, mothers can build relationships as co-laborers in Christian home education. In turn, these relationships provide encouragement, spurring them on in faith and steadfastness as they nurture and disciple the next generation.
Overview:
Currently, we offer two ways to connect with other Homeschoolers here at Selah Hills Church.
First, we have our Selah Homeschoolers group, which is open to anyone at Selah Hills Church who homeschools. This group is located in our Church Center app, and is a place to ask questions, connect for play dates and holiday parties, swap curriculum, etc. We host occasional field trips, holiday gatherings, park play dates, and moms-only events. This is where you want to be if you are looking for homeschooling community at Selah Hills Church.
Second, we have the Heritage Homeschool Educational Co-op. Heritage aims to serve families who are committed to the body of Christ at Selah Hills Church, and who call this church their home. It is our desire that families who participate in Heritage also actively participate in other ministries of the church, and that Heritage simply be one of the many ways that your family is a part of the body at Selah Hills Church. Heritage activities are mainly geared towards elementary-aged school children, however, siblings of any age are also welcome to attend. Heritage will meet 3-4 times per month on Thursdays for our educational co-op, with one week off per month. Educational activities include biblical memory work, an art project, a science experiment or activity, and presentations where the children orally share about something in front of their peers. We offer enrollment on a semester basis, with our Fall Semester beginning in September and our Spring Semester beginning in January.
If you are interested in joining either of these groups, please send us an e-mail using our contact form. We look forward to connecting with you!
