Mission Zoom is a Christian non-profit organization that is helping empower and disciple pastors and leaders in the Dominican Republic.  Mission Zoom is dedicated to working with local leaders who are sharing the Gospel and investing in their communities in significant ways.  They primarily operate through 4 focused areas of ministry: Church Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Family Ministry, and Baseball Ministry.

During this trip, Dan Riemer, who serves with Mission Zoom and lives locally in Liberty Hill, will be helping lead and facilitate our group throughout the week of ministry. We can expect to do some light service projects and spend time with a few of the Children’s ministries.  Here are some trip specifics:

• Morning & afternoon physical projects that are helping grow or sustain one of Mission Zoom’s focused areas of ministry
• Afternoon & evening relational experiences working with children and/or spending time with others connected to the ministry of Mission Zoom.
• Evening team time/Bible study with the rest of the team members from Selah Hills to talk through your trip experience.

Additionally:

• You will get to spend time hearing from the pastors and leaders who partner with Mission Zoom, and will have opportunities to pray with and for their ministry
• You will have opportunities to see and experience the Dominican culture through a few extra activities.
• You may even have an opportunity to spend a few hours at the beach!
• Most importantly, through this trip experience with Mission Zoom you will have an opportunity to be part of God’s ever growing kingdom, and to spend time building relationships with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ!

Orphan Relief and Rescue (ORR)  works to overcome injustice in the areas of abuse, neglect, and trafficking in West Africa.
ORR believe that every child has a name, dream and destiny, and they are working hard to ensure that they are protected and given a voice and hope for a future.

ORR are helping children and families practically and spiritually.  Sharing the love of Jesus with every person on their programs, and in the villages where they work is key to everything they do, this is where ORR is seeing lasting transformation in lives taking place.

You will stay at the orphanage safe home that Orphan Relief and Rescue (ORR) founded with 61 children. You will stay in your own guest room with one other person, with a private bathroom on that campus.

In the mornings you will go to the villages where ORR has intercepted hundreds of children from becoming trafficked, and hundreds of kids have come back from being trafficked.  ORR will facilitate Community Meetings where you will have a chance to share your testimony and to pray with villagers in very distressing circumstances.

Late afternoons and early evenings will be spent with kid activities at the Orphanage Safe Home. There will be lots of opportunities to speak into children’s lives and to pray with children who have gone through very difficult things that they want to process with you about. They want to be heard and valued by you.

Team processing and prayer times will be each evening.

Sowing into ORR local staff’s lives and encouraging them in their work.
Playing sports and other activities with the children in the orphanage safe home.
Getting an authentic cultural experience with incredible people in a land that is full of spiritual dynamics that are not readily talked about here in the West.
You will have an opportunity every day to be an encouragement to those who need an extra touch of Jesus through your life.
