Opportunities
To Serve

We have many ways people can serve at Selah Hills Church.
Please read below to learn about how you can get involved.

Serving

Be a servant of Jesus and His people!

"Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us to the glory of God." - Romans 15:7

Greeters

Greeters welcome everyone with a smile.  If someone needs assistance, we ask that you are available to provide them with any information they may need regarding service times, children’s ministry classrooms, events or direct them to the hospitality area to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Ushers

Ushering includes greeting people as they arrive for the service, assisting people with special needs, handing out communion and ushering guests to their seats as they arrive.

Hospitality

The hospitality ministry welcomes those who come for some fresh coffee before service.  This team prepares coffee and makes sure we have everything needed in order to serve our guests.  Hospitality keeps the station well stocked with coffee needs such as cream, sugar, cups, stirrers, etc.

Welcome Ministry

The Welcome Ministry plays a vital role within our church and consists of Greeters, Ushers, Hospitality, Coffee Cart, Safety Response Team and Set-up and Tear-down teams. We encourage all who serve in this ministry to come and serve with a gracious heart. Not everyone you come in contact with will be friendly, so extend yourself and let them know that they are welcomed.  It is our desire that everyone walking through our doors feel loved and accepted.  First impressions count and many guests will return time and time again because of the love they felt the minute they were welcomed at Selah Hills Church.

Safety Response Team

Our Safety/Responders are some of the first faces our guests see and it’s important that you welcome each individual as they walk up to our church. The team ensures that all areas of the church facility are secure and are extremely involved with making sure our Children’s Ministry is watched over.  Our team is also called upon when we have special events such as Women’s Events, Men’s Events, Children’s Ministry Events and more.

Setup & Teardown Teams

The Selah Hills set-up crew arrives early on Sunday mornings and is responsible for outside set-up and children’s/youth ministry set-up.  The Selah Hills tear down crew starts after second service and is responsible for all tear down the set-up crew did as well as various other duties as needed.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Children's Ministry

SelahKids is designed to serve those 0 to 5th Grade. As a servant in this ministry you will be there to support our Children's Ministry Director by caring for babies and teaching toddlers to elementary age students. You'll be able to share the love of Christ and teach them how to spread the word of God to everyone they meet.

Salt & Light Ministry

“You are the salt of the Earth,” “ You are the light of the world.” “ let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Mathew 5:13-16.  As a ministry, the mission is to bring glory to God by being His hands and feet by providing; disaster relief, immediate and unexpected need help, bringing resources to those who most need them in times of adversity.

Worship/Worship Tech

These two teams work closely together to help facilitate an environment through which we are able to point others clearly to Jesus during our gatherings; encouraging them to worship and adore Him in spirit and truth.
  • The "Worship" team includes musicians and vocalists serving on stage.
  • The "Tech" team includes both audio and video servants helping in the sound booth area.

Y'ALL Ministry (Youth Actively Leading Littles)

The Y'ALL Ministry program is for youth who want to serve in Kids Ministry and are between the ages of 11 and 17. The program is designed to prepare youth to become well-trained servants and eventually lead in our Kids Ministry or other areas.
